East Lothian Council, NHS Lothian, and our third sector partners, all face challenging funding situations. East Lothian Council must make £60 million worth of cuts over the next five years. The Third Sector in East Lothian have shown exceptional resilience in challenging funding environments, but staff and volunteer wellbeing are a rising concern in the sector in the face of rising need and diminishing resource.

    FWGG, MRR & SWBG - How will you ensure that the decisions taken won’t exacerbate peoples experience of poverty - how does this link to council priorities and the lens used to make decisions, how will you identify how the way services are currently delivered puts barriers in people’s ways (gender budgeting/human rights budgeting approaches can help provide a framework for looking at this) - again need to set targets so that decisions particularly around spend are driven by these
