We want poverty to be everybody's business. How can we make sure that tackling poverty is a priority across the county?

Tackling poverty is everybody’s business. We will make anti-poverty activities mainstream for every service that we provide. Poverty impacts every one whether they are experiencing hardship or not. This isn’t just an issue for Foodbanks or social services, this is an issue for everyone.

As a parent of twins and a four year old , my main worth is the cost of childcare . Childcare is increasing at an extortionate rate , nursery fees in my local nursery have risen from £59-£75 pounds a day , this will cost me £150 a day for my twins and my 4 year old will cost roughly £23 a day for morning and after school club . Paying for the twins childcare is something which keeps me awake at night with worry as my salary will not keep up with this cost . No support is available to working parents with multiple children. Had I had one child I could have afforded the childcare costs but having to put two children through nursery at once is something which I cannot afford. Many parents of multiples have contacted me to state that they considered abortions due to this . It is so sad that families of multiples have to consider this as an option . Please support us by adding multiples to the eligible two year old list for childcare
