What does poverty mean to you?

Poverty is complex and everybody's experience of it is likely to be different. We want to know how is has affected you in your life, and whether this has changed at different point.

Poverty can be defined in many ways. It is defined by East Lothian Council and others as having less than 60% of median household income. The median is the income level where half of the households in the population have more income, and half have less.

We also define poverty as not having the resources to obtain the type of diet, participate in the activities and have the living conditions and amenities which are the norm in 21st Century Scotland.
